The complex relationship between data and design in UX

  • Data is important to people who are destining things, such as a product or an experience. However there is a disconnect between the designers and the people who are experiencing it in the real world. However in the digital world, you have more freedom, but you are more responsible to the experience that retches the market. Designers need to ask questions to gather data to improve the experience. Small details on the digital platform, can be so important, and data should be taken on it to see if it is helpful or not.
  • What suck out to me the most was the play button part. It is interesting to see when a service gets big it reaches so many people that a small detail like that effects what happens on it. I’m surprised that they even took the time to research and take data on it. The fact that there was also a consistent pattern that could be turned into a trend is even more surprising. It makes me think about what else in digital design was done incidentally.  Every detail on a site may have been tailored based on data from the people who use it.
