- My reaction was that It was very relevant to what we are working on right now. We need to start to consider how we are going to use our research to present an argument. The key ideas of the chapter where based around how to organize the research you’ve found, the different types of research, the different ways you can implement them, and what you have to do to effectively implement them. You would use direct quotation if you wanted to draw attention directly to something an author said. Paraphrasing works better if you are trying to just give an idea of the original authors argument. Summarizing works best if you are just trying to provide background information.
Reflection Questions:
- A few people died from poisoning at a wedding from their drinks. After taking the chemical back to the lab, a scientist was able to deduce what it was. It was found that it was rat poison, added to the drinks and then shipped to the wedding. They then traced the shipment of the drinks back to the packaging plant and found that the packages for the drinks where switched. It was deduced that the delivery man did it after his footprint in muddy water was found near the shipment. His motive was monetary, so he could afford to run away with his new fiancé.
- We decided to work backwards from the and, and then attempted to incorporate everything else as we worked back to the beginning where we find out who did it.
- We left out some images that felt redundant and felt like their importance was explained elsewhere in the story in one way or another. Such as the dog with he shoes or the flask.
