1. He was a procrastinator himself. This had to change for his master thesis. However he did not do this and still procrastinated it to three days. He did it in three days and It did not turn out well. He believes that instant gratification can take over and prevents productivity. When a procrastinator is having fun when they shouldn’t be they don;t really enjoy it because of the guilt. A procrastinator gets things done by panic and fear of deadlines. There are two types of procrastination. When there is a deadline the effects are contained. When there inst a deadline it can cause long term issues.
2. I feel like I can relate to this a lot. Usually I can put myself into situations where I feel like I’m panicking to get done. Things still get done, but I bet the quality would have been better. But I do think I’m still good at getting some things done on a good timetable. The long term type of procrastination I’ve been able to control, by motivating myself to do things that might not have an imitate consequence. When there is a deadline like a school project Its a easier motivation. When there isn’t a deadline, like calling home, you have to remind yourself to do it. I believe I have gotten good at that aspect.
